As an employee of Tri County Vet I came to know Gina when she brought Gigi and Sparkle in. (Actually it was more like they brought her in!) She was such a vivacious presence and certainly will be missed by all of us.

Gina, I'm convinced that you never met a stranger. Your wide-eyed smile and gift of gab unforgettably endeared you to so many of our patients. May your light finally be allowed to brightly shine unimpeded, and may you forever be surrounded by kitty purrs, puppy tail wags, and guinea pig squeals. Sleep peacefully.

Gina, I can’t believe your life here on Earth has come to an end. We miss you! But we know you have been joined in Heaven with your Mom and Dad, Granny and Grandaddy Riggsbee, and many other members of the Carroll family. Where to begin...??? I have SO many memories of our childhood together. You were the best cousin! I remember our summers at the campground at Emerald Isle, Christmas mornings at your house, riding in the back of Joan and Billy’s station wagon, going to the pool in the summer, your cool bedroom, yours and Joan’s beautiful Glamor Shots photos, and always looking for something yummy in your frig! And the dogs! And the trampoline and the mini motor scooter. I could go on and on. My childhood was filled with time spent with you. I cherish our time together. I WILL see you again one day.. Peace be with you now. Much love, Shannon ❤️

Ahh Gina where do I start? We met in 2nd grade and became best friends forever. I remember going to your Grandma's house after school. We used to sing Captain And Tenille songs together. We learned how to ride bikes with no hands. I remember when we decided to run and dive into the hammock and I broke my nose but we still went skating at Daniel Boone that night.
We survived High School together somehow. So many memories there I wont get into! Then when we had kids, and both of us being single moms, we had a lot of fun times with our kids. I have so many pictures of our adventures at the beach and mountains and pumpkin patches.
Our retirement plan was we were going to get a trailer in Florida, have a bunch of animals, and meet up with some nice dudes at shuffleboard. Dudes with yachts but who weren't too stuffy or needy.
Every time we talked we ended with I love you, and I do and always will.

I new Gina for years having attended the same schools in Chapel Hill/Carrboro and running into each other occasionally. A few things I will remember most about Gina was her infectious smile, booming personality, her love for her son Brandon and love for animals and nature. I know that heaven is even brighter now with Gina's presence. My thoughts and prayers to her family and dear friends.

Aunt Gina,
I will miss our girls nights where we binged on caramel and coffee ice cream. Also, I will miss laughing at the animals together. You have the best laugh. I’m sure you’re making friends with everyone in heaven already. Love you aunt Gina! Can’t wait to see you again
Love, your Ashley!

I have no idea how I'll wrap my head around the fact that the fire and the happy energy that was Gina is gone. But, I know nobody who has met her will forget her unconditional friendship, or her spicy way of talking and laughing. I hope she has gone to someplace warm and happy, a place where she can find peace. And, I hope she has been provided a puppy to love and play with because we all know how much she loved her puppies.

Gina had the most kindest soul out of anyone I have ever met. She would come to Food Lion where I work and just have the biggest smile on her face when she would greet me. She was loved by so many and she will be dearly missed.

Gina, I remember when I first met you. You were 18 & I was 22. You were this adorable tiny young lady with a big personality and spicy southern accent. I instantly loved you and always thought of you as family in my heart. You made me laugh in almost every conversation. I believe you should have been a comedian or definitely a zoologist!
My memories of you include our trip to Mexico, San Diego and laying out on lounge chairs in a Chula Vista at your brother’s apartment, our deep talks included with lots of laughter, North Carolina when your beautiful papa & mama we’re still here, and Disneyland. You were a beautiful person in a beautiful family! Your son Brandon is an amazing young man & I know how much you loved him because he was all you talked about at Disneyland and when we spoke on the phone. Gina, you will be forever loved and forever missed until we see you again in heaven! I know your with your loved ones in heaven and we’ll see you again!
Love Renee
