Obituary of Leigh McLaurin Hecht

HILLSBOROUGH -. Leigh Ann McLaurin Hecht, 57, passed away on November 1, 2013 at Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington, NC. Leigh was born on January 16, 1956 in Durham to Robert and Shirley McLaurin. Leigh grew up in Durham, NC. Leigh graduated from Orange Senior High in Hillsborough, NC in 1974. Leigh married Raymond Hecht in June 10, 1973 in Durham, NC at Grace Lutheran Church. They were happily married for 40 years. She enjoyed bird watching, collecting smiley faces and being surrounded by her family. Leigh was preceded in death by her mother Shirley McLaurin, her sister Donna Willet and her father-in-law Herman Hecht. Leigh is survived by her husband, Raymond Hecht of Mebane, NC, her daughter Jennifer Campbell and husband Darin Campbell of Hillsborough, NC and daughter Jaime Hecht of Hillsborough, NC; her father Robert McLaurin of Durham, NC and mother-in-law Rubie Hecht of Hillsborough, NC; her grandchildren Jeremy Brown, Elijah Hecht, Nathan Hecht, and Justice Campbell all of Hillsborough, NC; her nephews Mathew Separk, and Ryan Hecht; nieces Melissa Hecht and Ashley London; great nephew Brian Separk and great nieces Gracie Separk, Lillie Separk, and Avery Separk. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the residence of Ray and Leigh Hecht at Carden Place Apartments building, 103 apartment C, Mebane, NC. The viewing will be held November 4th from 6:30-8:30 PM at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC.
