Doris was a dear soldier of the Cross and dear friend. I'll never ever forget how she stayed right on track with her work with the United Church of Chapel Hill Fellowship Board. She was always, always, always there in the kitchen and she was always doing everything she could do. She was such a wonderful support to me too when I chaired the fellowship board and when my term was over, Doris assumed the responsibility. You could always count on Doris, even when she was feeling poorly.
