My sympathy on the passing of this wonderful soul. To say Mr. Lougue had an influence in my life would be an understatement. I loved being in the band front at MHS and counted time spent marching as some of my best times in high school. He had unGodly patience, the respect of our parents and while I am sure we drove him crazy, we did so love him. Thank you for sharing him with us. I only wish I knew he was so close in these later years as I would have lived to thank him in person but he will not be forgotten. My sympathies and prayers.

I am very sorry for your lost. We buried my father on the 22nd of July and I know how you feel. Mr. Louge was different from most of his colleagues meaning he was unique and he was a compassionate person. If you remember, he walked with his head up and was always nice to people.

Mr. Logue was a wonderful teacher and he made every morning for me from eighth through twelfth grade an adventure. He was an inspiration to me and all of his students at MHS. I know he was respected by everyone he knew, loved his family, and always talked to me on the phone, when I moved to Georgia, how wonderful his grandchildren were. My heart goes out to Mrs. Logue, his childen, family and all of his friends. I am so lucky to have seen him 2 years ago. My deepest condolences, natalie murphy

Mr. Logue was one of my favourite teachers at Metuchen High School and I will never forget him. He was so incredibly patient. He truly enjoyed all kinds of music and he passed this enthusiasm on to me. Whether it be Tjajkovski or Maynard Ferguson, he introduced each with the same passion. He brought our marching band to a very competitive level. One year he had us play Gospel John. It was amazing and I will never forget it.
I send my condolences and deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr. Logue was one of my favorite teachers. His humor and patience helped me though the minefield of high school. He helped to broaden my love of music. I encouraged my kids to learn an instrument and join the band because of the many great times I had with our (M.H.S.) band, thanks to Mr. Logue and the culture he created. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I would not be who I am, or what I am, had not Ed Logue touched my life. Mr. Logue arrived at Metuchen High School in 1969, my junior year, where I played for him in Concert Band and marched for him in Marching Band. My first chance to to conduct (Holst, "Song of the Blacksmith,") came under his guidance when we went on tour to Brookline, Mass my senior year. Just as remarkable as his commitment to excellence in musicianship was his kindness, good humor, and patience with so many of us. It is no exaggeration to say that my present work as a professional conductor, composer, and university professor is directly due to the impact of this good and great man. I am shaken that he has gone before I had the chance to tell him that I loved him and to say good-bye -- and I know I am not the only one of his "kids" to feel this way. Rest in peace, Mr. Logue. Thank you for sharing your life with me, and with us.

We came to know Ed through our children nearly 40 years ago. At first, we just saw the thoughtful patriarch of the blended family he formed with his wife, June. Ed was a terrific parent. Then we came to recognize in him the supportive teacher, and band director of his students at MHS. We were privileged to know a quiet man of music, who accepted his calling as Metuchen's "music man", tirelessly performing and conducting at so many events. A consummate pro, he brought his music for us all to enjoy. Fun and uplifting, it reached everyone's heart. Even his later years and illness were met with the same dignity and grace that characterized his professional life. Ed will be missed.
