Bill Olsen was always a wonderful friend to us and a great neighbor since we moved into our home October 1988, right across the street. His wife Rosalie is also a lovely and kind, thoughtful person, and we offer our deepest condolences to her and all the family. He was a true gentleman, and as has been said saw the good in everyone, and we had some wonderful talks about Chapel Hill, UNC, and music, he loved music so much, had played in band, sang in choirs, and as I am a musician and our sons played in bands he was always fun to talk to. He helped up SO much when our home was hit very badly by the flood on June 30, 2013. He gave us good advice and counsel when we were overwhelmed by dealing with insurance and contractors. He kept up with local affairs and so was the best kind of citizen. Rest in peace, love from the Schaefers.
