Obituary of Imogene Jean Crowder

Scotland Neck – Mrs. Imogene “Jean” Crowder, 89, wife of the late Charles Crowder, died Tuesday evening at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, NC.
Mrs. Crowder was born May 31, 1929 in Chapel Hill to the late Bessie and Mack Clark. She was educated in the Chapel Hill schools. For several years she operated child care out of her home. She had been married to Charles for 68 years prior to his death in 2013. Upon Charles’ retirement, they relocated to Kerr Lake. Mrs. Crowder was a past member of Orange United Methodist Church.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Trudy C. Tudor, of Scotland Neck; son, Ken Crowder, and his wife, Melinda, of Pittsboro; grandson, Charles Tudor, and his wife, Tracey, of Raleigh; great-grandsons, Alexander and Eric; sister, Faye Stinson of Chapel Hill; brother, Devan Clark “Sonny”, and his wife, Pat, of Carrboro; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Louhonor Cannada “Lou”; and her brothers, Kenneth Hooker Clark, Harold Clark, and Raeford Clark.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Orange United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1220 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill.
