Joanne faithfully cared for many people throughout her life. Her life was centered around service to others and to our Lord. I appreciated her kind spirit and I am comforted to know it lives on in heaven. As I stood by her grave late Tuesday afternoon I felt sadness but also great joy that this was not the end of her story. Her next chapter is more glorious than anything we can imagine. My prayers surround her family as they deal with this loss.

While in the hospital, Joanne was a great encourager of me. She had great faith and called out to Jesus when she needed him. She suffered greatly from the pain of kidney and bladder cancer. She was a heroine who gave her kidney to prolong the life of her brother. Please listen to Glorious Day by Casting Crowns, Love lifted me, and How Great Thou Art. These songs were special to her.

Jojo was one of the most caring giving people my girls and I have ever known. A second mom to so many kids that are now grown up. While it makes me sad for her to have left this world, I know she is in no longer suffering and in pain. She is with my daddy, grandma Rachel, Donnie, John and her daddy. She is at peace.
