Dear Family of Sally Ann Parker
I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Although I did not know your mother, I believe our parents knew each other in Janesville. My father, Jack Coyle, was with General Motors, and he and my mother, Una Coyle, were transfered there. I believe my brother, Fred (b. 1950) was born in Janesville. My sister Sherry and brother Jeff would have been around 9 and 7 when the family was transferred to California in 1951-52, where my father had a Chevrolet dealership.
Why is this relevant? I was born in California in 1953, and named Sally Ann Coyle. When I once asked my mother where the name came from, she said I was named after Sally Parker, of the Parker pen company. I have always wondered about Sally Parker. I loved Parker pens and felt a strange connection when I held one in my hand. Imagine my surprise when I read the name Sally Minor Parker in the Durham paper. If I had known that your mother was near, I would have visited her. She seems to have been an interesting woman...as was my mother.
I live between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill (and spell my name with and "e" at the end.) If any of you would like to have a cup of tea someday, I would welcome it. If not, that is OK, too. But I wanted to share the story. Yours, Sallye Coyle

To the Family of Sally Parker:
Such a very sad time for those who knew and loved Sally! When we lose a loved one, death is truly what the Bible calls an "enemy" (1 Cor 15:26). It leads a void in our lives because that person was either a dearly beloved family member, or friend. It was not God's original purpose for us to have to be separated from them but to live forever enjoying their company in pleasant surroundings right here on this earth. But because our first parents did not appreciate their Creator enough to obey him, they threw away the opportunity to live in that paradise. But not so for us. Jehovah God in his infinite wisdom has made arrangements through his Son Christ Jesus as our ransomer to redeem mankind. (John 3:16)That is why it is so important to pray for God's Kingdom to come and to pray that God's will be done on Earth as it is being done in Heaven. (Matt 6:9, 10) This government by God will restore the earth to God's original purpose to be a paradise for all righteous mankind to live upon. (Rev 21:3-5) That is why we should take in knowledge (John 17:3) about what is going to take place soon, since we are living in what the Bible calls the "last days" of wickedness. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) This Bible knowledge will give you comfort and hope to be able to see Sally again in the resurrection (John 5:28, 29) (Psalms 37:9-11,29)
