Since October, Jane had shared more than 50 hours of her time working in the Habitat ReStore's books processing area. She had a knack like no other in specially pricing contemporary and special interest books. In just a few minutes, she could mark up a dozen books. She would then strategically arrange those books on display, and within days, those books would sell. Her efforts directly generated much needed revenue for the store.
Beyond her unique insight into the market for used books, she was simply a joy to have in the store. In one word, she could be described as "sunny". Jane radiated a bright smile, and she reflected a true passion for volunteering. Even in the midst of her never-ending workload, Jane saw her work for the beauty that it was- a constant and necessary task. Her example reminds others that the work of processing donation after donation, selling item after item, and helping customer after customer is not just the plight but the purpose of every ReStore Volunteer. Jane emitted optimism and practiced a great work ethic (even lifting and moving heavy boxes!); she was the perfect model of a "volunteer".
Just as Jane valued her volunteer role at the Habitat ReStore, so do we value her and her contributions.
