Ben was one of a kind. We struck up a friendship via telephone over his joy and love about North Carolina athletics. It became a regular and welcome part of my week as a sportswriter at the Fayetteville Observer to hear Ben's voice and talk about the Tar Heels. I will sincerely miss those conversations. My deepest sympathies to Ben's family and friends.

I am sad to lose my longtime friend Ben. Had many long and entertaining phone calls and visits with him over the years. He loved Christ School, UNC, the Yankees and baseball cards. But most of all he loved Jenna, his two children and his expansive family and friends . Rest In Peace old friend. Marny Hendrick Christ School ‘67

I first met Ben Nash at - where else - a viewing party in Wadesboro for a UNC football game. Over the years we had many spirited phone conversations about Carolina teams and I always enjoyed our talks. My heart is sad at the news of Ben's death and I am so sorry the last years of his life were tough health wise. He spoke so vividly of his late wife plus his children. My deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends. Rest In Peace My Old Friend. Very Sincerely, Marion Ratliff -- Matthews, NC
