Obituary of Edwin M. Riley

Mr. Edwin M. Riley, age 82, of Hillsborough, passed away on March 3, 2018, at the UNC-Hillsborough Hospital. He was born on September 1,1935 in Durham NC to the late Lucius J. and Nellie Riley.

Ed retired as Branch Manager of Central Carolina Bank - Hillsborough in 1997 after 26 years of service. He was very involved in the community serving as one of the original members of the Orange Rescue Squad, as a volunteer fireman, as chairman of the BBQ contest at Hillsborough Hog Day, a member of the Hillsborough Exchange Club and various other Boards and Committees.

Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years Sue Hayes Riley of the home, son, Todd Riley, and his wife, Tammy of Hillsborough, their children Amber and Skylar, son, Trent Riley, and his wife, Kim of Mebane and their son Ethan.

The family received friends on Tuesday March 6 from 1:00PM to 2:30pm at Walker’s Funeral Home of Hillsborough, 204 N. Churton Street.  A memorial service followed in the Chapel of Walker's Funeral Home at 2:30 pm.  Officiating was the Reverend Jim Shaw.
