Obituary of Larry Gray Knight

LARRY GRAY KNIGHT, son of the late Gray Knight, and Oscar and Kathleen Brewington, was born February 25th 1943. Larry peacefully went to meet his Savior on February 9th.

Larry graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1962. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy out of high school and served until 1965.  He wed his High School sweetheart, Glenda Terrell, in 1965 and was happily married for 52 years.

Larry was an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. He competed in several marathons and half marathons throughout his running years. Larry was also a competitive weight lifter and competed in several power lifting meets.

Larry is survived by his wife, Glenda Knight, his son, Craig Knight and daughter-in-law Stacie Knight. His granddaughters, Malia Gingerich and JoLee Knight. He’s also survived by his brothers William M. Knight (Kathy) of Hillsborough, Bobby R. Knight Sr. of Mebane, his sister Laverne Martin of Mebane and his Uncle, PH Craig, of Chapel Hill. He also leaves nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 

Larry was deeply loved by family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:30pm in the Chapel of Walker's Funeral Home, Hillsborough.  Burial followed at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
