Obituary of Thelma Dunnagin Williams

Mrs. Thelma Dunnagin Williams, age 91, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. 

 

Thelma was born on April 26, 1926 to the late Arthur and Emily Dunnagin.  She attended Orange County schools and worked at Cones Mill for over fifty years.  Mrs. Williams then went on to earn her Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Alamance Community College.  Thelma loved square dancing, aerobics, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a proud member of The Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church for over fifty years

In addition to her parents, Thelma was proceeded in death by her husband, Dewey Williams; her daughter, Linda Foster; her so Roger Williams and her brother Delma Dunnagin.  Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Barbara Crutchfield of Roxboro; her son, Denny Williams of Hillsborough; sisters, Helen Dunman of Efland, Carolyn Woolard of Hope Mills and Frances Capps of Roanoke Rapids; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren ad one great-great grandchild. 

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at The Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church and will be officiated by Rev. David Bolick.  Burial will follow at Hillsborough Town Cemetery.  Flowers are welcome and appreciated or memorials in Mrs. Williams’ honor may be made to the charity of your choice.  The family appreciates Quincy Lenier, the Hospice caregivers and staff of Roxboro Nursing Center.
