Obituary of Kathleen Vivian Benson

BENSON KATHLEEN VIVIAN BENSON (nee St. John). A loving mother, doting grandmother, and Ohio State fan, Ms. Benson passed away on January 1, 2014 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vivian St. John of Akron, Ohio and her sister, Debbie Robinson. Kathleen is survived by her brother, Raymond St. John, daughters, Aimee and Tyler Benson, and son, Tom Benson, and three grandchildren: Simone and Adele Rosenthal and Connor Benson. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Berea, OH, St. Peter's Church in Columbia, SC and St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Chapel Hill. She enjoyed dancing, laughing, and Ohio State football. A viewing will take place at Walkers Funeral Home in Chapel Hill on Sunday, January 5 from 4-6 pm, with a funeral mass at St. Thomas More on Monday, January 6th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
