Obituary of Malcolm Graham Allison

Malcolm Graham Allison, age 66, son of the late Percy Graham Allison and Sallie Allen Allison, passed away at home late Saturday evening following a two year battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Cedar Grove, Malcolm attended Aycock High School and graduated from Orange High School in 1966. He played basketball for Orange High School and Louisburg College. While attending Louisburg, he began a longstanding friendship with Dr. Felton Neese, one of his professors. Joining the Navy in 1968, he toured the Mediterranean on the USS Forrestal serving as a Plane Captain for Fighter Squadron Seventy-Four, known as the "Be-Devilers". After serving, he attended North Carolina State University studying Agronomy and became steward of his family's farm. After thirty years of self-employment as a farmer and excavator Malcolm worked as an Orange County employee, enjoying 7 years of camaraderie with friends at the Waste Management department. Throughout his life Malcolm was a member of Eno Presbyterian Church, serving as elder and trustee. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Carla McDade Allison, daughter Korie Allison Oakley, her spouse Daniel Philip Oakley, and daughter Haley Allison Howell, her spouse Kenneth McSwain Howell, grandchildren Logan Lee Oakley, Duncan Hue Oakley, Marion Page Oakley, Madelin Moore Howell, and sisters Donna Allison Herbert and Libby Allison Parker, and his niece and nephews. Family will receive friends at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough on Wednesday, May 28th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Funeral service will begin 2:00 pm Thursday at Eno Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eno Presbyterian Church.
