Obituary of Numa Gilbert Womble

Numa G. Womble CHAPEL HILL - Mr. Numa G. Womble, 85, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2014 while at his home. A life long resident of Chapel Hill, NC, he was retired from OWASA as well as a full-time farmer. A member of Damascus Congregational Christian Church, he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Madeline S. Womble and children Warren and Lynda Womble of Chapel Hill, Tyree and Pat Harding of Blowing Rock, and John and Tonya Scott of Sanford. Brother Essell R. Womble and sisters Irene Stevens and Brenda Kirby. He was also blessed by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2:PM at Damascus Congregational Christian Church located at 522 Damascus Church Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516, with visitation at the church Tuesday prior to the funeral service from 1:PM until 2:PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Damascus Congregational Christian Church, 522 Damascus Church Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
