Miriam Blake Trageser, 94, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 7, 2014. A lifelong resident of Chapel Hill, NC, she was the daughter of the late Flossie Mann and William Blake. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Paul Joseph Trageser. Miriam was born in Chatham County and graduated from Pittsboro High School, class of 1937 and went on to attend Women's College in Greensboro, NC. Before becoming a wife and mother, she was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC and later was a sales associate for Talbot's clothing store until the age of 87. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas More Church for many years.
Miriam was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a gentle spirit and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Paul Joseph Trageser, Jr. (June), Pittsboro, NC, and four daughters, Lynne Birmingham(Matthew) Windsor, VT, Susan Moody (Richard), Chapel Hill, NC, Jean Bohn (Raymond), Durham, NC and Dana Aspell (Brian) Woodstock, VT, 13 adoring grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 10 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
