Obituary of Donald Carter Elmore

Durham County Durham - Donald Carter Elmore passed away unexpectedly at home very peacefully. He left family, friends, and co-workers that will miss him very much. He had an exciting life that took him to many places around the world. His intelligence and passion for helping others enabled him to excel in many things, starting with his academic work at UNC - earning two undergraduate degrees in Economics and Political Science plus his MBA. Don spent two years in West Africa doing important work with the Peace Corps. His consulting work for Accenture and IBM in Asia allowed him to see the world for work and pleasure. Upon returning to his home area in North Carolina, he did consulting work for numerous organizations before going full circle back to working at UNC in their Translational and Clinical Science Institute working in bioinformatics. His family takes peace from knowing he is now sharing all his great stories with his previously deceased parents, grandparents, cousins, and friends. The family also appreciates all the support in this difficult time. Don's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on November 16th in the banquet room - Chapel Hill University Inn, 1301 Fordham Blvd. at 3pm with a reception to follow immediately.
