Robert H. Cathcart, 79, passed away on February 17, 2015. He was born in Jamaica Plain, MA to Theodore K. Cathcart and Mabel Holland Cathcart. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston, and worked in the insurance industry for 40 years. Bob loved celebrating life with his loved ones. He had a wonderful sense of humor. A handyman, he also enjoyed refurbishing old houses. In his retirement, he wrote "A Yankee Peddler Nutmeg Cookbook." He became an evolutionary thinker and poet and also wrote "Evolutionary Thinking About Death & Life." Visit his website: evolutionary-thinking.com. Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vangi, and their three children; Garret Cathcart (son), Robert Henry Cathcart Jr. (son) and his wife Terri, and Jill Thompson (daughter) and her husband Marcus. He has six grandchildren; Jamie Lynn Hosty and her husband Gabriel, Ashley Kastelein and her husband Joshua, and his four grandsons; Robert Nathan and Wiley Joseph Cathcart, Tyler Cathcart, and Alex Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February, 22, 2015 at Extraordinary Ventures, 200 S. Elliott Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
