If you had a friend in Helen you had a friend for life. I first met Helen by telephone in 1984 when I sought her advice about a medical condition I had. She generously shared her knowledge and experience with me, introducing me to others so I could build a community of friends who understood what I was dealing with. She was a thorough researcher and taught me that whatever can be imagined can be achieved through focus and effort.
Throughout her life she reached out to others even at times when she did not have enough energy to meet her own needs. She was a loyal wife, neighbor and friend. She was also a shining example of devotion witnessed by her faith in God to the very end of her life.
I am so grateful I knew her and will always hold her in my heart as a model of kindness, courage and dedication.
