Brenda Ayers Kutcher passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on April 17, 2015. Brenda was born on March 12, 1944 to Wilma and Ralph Ayers. Brenda spent many happy years working in the Pharmacology Department at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she met her husband Mark. She and her husband moved to Chapel Hill, NC in 1988, and most recently retired after working many years as a Research Associate for the University of North Carolina Sheps Center for Health Services Research. She was an active member and past-president of the Auxiliary of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. She also served and visited as a Sister-City delegate from Chapel Hill, NC the sister-city of Saratov, Russia. Brenda enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Mark. Her love of travel served her well when she and her family hosted an AFS exchange student, "son" Javier Loza from Colombia, South America. Her "adopted mother" role continued when she hosted young medical residents and fellows from Russia and also a young business exchange student from Japan. Brenda had many talents. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and became quite good. She was fortunate to take a cooking class in Martha Stewart's kitchen. Her talent for cooking was appreciated and enjoyed whenever she entertained her family and many friends. Nothing was more important to her than making sure her family and friends felt nurtured and loved. The most important people in Brenda's life were her husband Mark Kutcher (b.
