My Mother and Grandmother and I were clients of hers as I was growing up and Belk Leggett had a Beauty Salon downtown in Durham. Anyway, Francis adopted me when I was a mere child and she would sit me on pile of towels to fix my hair. (Perms mainly) I loved her so much it was like having another Grandmother every 3 months to get spoiled and pampered by briefly, but lovingly.I still cherished her as I grew older and Belk moved to South Square though I lost touch with Frances I thought of her often through the years. Now she's in Heaven 3 yrs. after my own Mom. But catching up on gossip on all our family none the less. Frances was a childhood treasure I loved and cared and prayed for though rarely saw as I got older and married etc. There will NEVER be another Frances.
