I worked with Libby at the Business School in Executive Education for quite a few years.
So sorry to hear of her untimely death. She was a good person and tried to be a friend to everyone she met. I am sorry I didn't hear about this in time to attend the service and speak to her mother and family.
God rest her soul. Please know that many of us in Executive Education remember her and send you our sympathy.

Libby was one of those people who always put everyone else ahead of herself. She wanted to know how she could help and would always go the extra mile to make sure she did. She always had a smile and a kind word especially if she knew you were having a bad day. And she always gave me my favorite candy in the afternoons to make sure I had a smile on my face. Bless you Libby. You brought smiles to a lot of people and now you're still smiling down on us. We miss you. Rest in peace.

A comforting poem to the family from DRH Nuclear Medicine Dept.
The Sailing Ship
by Charles Henry Brent
What is dying?
I am standing on the seashore.
A ship sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.
She is an object and I stand watching her
Till at last she fades from the horizon,
And someone at my side says, "She is gone!" Gone where?
Gone from my sight, that is all;
The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her;
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "She is gone",
There are others who are watching her coming,
And other voices take up a glad shout,
"There she comes" - and that is dying.

Libby was the most caring, thoughtful, dedicated person I've had the pleasure to work with. She inspired my unique wedding plans, and was a kind and supportive voice on several occasions when travel went badly and I was stuck away from home. There are so many moments to chose from, but my favorite was the departure party for Jim Dean. I wish I still had pictures, seeing Libby cut loose by the Rizzo pool. We have lost a person who made the whole world a better place for everyone she touched.

I just heard about Libby's passing last week and am sorry for your loss. Libby was my husband's secretary for many years when he was Dean of Executive Education. He always said that she was an exceptionable secretary which enabled him to spend his time on furthering Executive Education. They started as a team before the Rizzo Center was even imagined. I still remember when Executive Education moved to the DuBois home and had electrical lines everywhere. When Warren officially retired from UNC, he lamented that it should be mandatory that your secretary come with you in retirement. I guess I did not come close to Libby. Warren passed away last November.

Our deepest of condolences on the loss of your wonderful Libby. We both worked with Libby at UNC, Mike for over 5 years and Kelly for 2 years. Libby was a wonderful person and would do absolutely anything for you. She took huge pride in her job and she did it with perfection. She cared very deeply for her friends and family and they for her. Her loss is a shock to us and we will miss her terribly. We hope that all the wonderful memories you have of her will help soothe you in this very difficult time. - Kelly and Mike Cain
