Obituary of Benjamin Kane Darab

Benjamin Kane Darab September 27, 2013 - June 27, 2015 Hillsborough, North Carolina - Benjamin Kane Darab, 21 months, was granted peace and comfort surrounded by family at 1:38 pm, June 27, 2015, at his home in Hillsborough, North Carolina, following a valiant struggle with Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia Type 2. Although Ben faced many obstacles, his strength led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create loving memories. Those touched by Ben have come to understand the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time. His smile would melt the heart of those around him, and although he never spoke a word his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Ben's passing reminds us that life is to be celebrated. We are so thankful Ben's sister Charlotte had this precious time with her brother, so that she can hold dear the memory of Ben's gentle spirit. Ben also leaves behind many loving caregivers who helped enhance his quality of life. Ben is survived by his loving parents Jonathan and Meaghun (Kane) Darab, sister Charlotte; paternal grandparents Michael and Janice Darab of Philadelphia, PA; his maternal grandparents John Kane of Janesville and Liz Kane of Madison; uncle Sean Darab of Philadelphia, PA; aunt Amanda Kane and Todd Cullen of Janesville and great-grandmother Grace Barton of Spring Green. A memorial service will be held in Hillsborough, NC on August 8, 2015, at Ben's home, 423 West Margaret Lane, receiving at 10 am, service at 11 am, with a luncheon to follow.
