Obituary of Tisha Holland Kale
Please share a memory of Tisha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tisha Holland Kale, 86, passed away peacefully in her home, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving daughters. Tisha was born in Miami, Florida on June 14, 1929, but lived in North Carolina her entire adult life where she was a dedicated and well-loved member of Efland United Methodist Church. Tisha was a true nurturer consistently placing the needs of others before her own needs. She seldom met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone whom she happened to meet. She found humor in unexpected place in life and loved to laugh. She will be deeply missed, but has left a legacy that lives on in all that knew her. Tisha spent her career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in several different administrative roles and retires as "Chief Accountant".
Tisha was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father Mary Gertrude Holland and Carey Elisha Holland.
Tisha is survived by her five daughters, Trudy, Terry, Tina, Tracey and Taren. Surviving grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Andrew Compton, Philip Compton, Emily Kale, Steven Harrill, Hannah Cates, Jordan Harrill, Mary Katherine Harrill, Elijah McDow, Claire and Michael Harrill and Anais Compton. What tremendous joy these grandchildren gave to their loving Nana throughout their lives!
Additionally, she is survived by her beloved sister and brother, Iola Holland Gibson and Clarence E. Holland of Florida and the father of her children, Thomas L. Kale of Harrisburg, NC. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Tisha's life will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 11 AM at Efland United Methodist Church followed by interment at the church cemetery on Lebanon Rd., Efland. Family visitation will be held from 6-8 PM at Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough on Friday, August 21st. All other times the family will receive visitors in the family home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Efland United Methodist Church Memorial Fund (PO Box 121, Efland, NC 27243). Sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Blazing, Ms. Lovey Swepson and Duke Home Care and Hospice, each for their loving care of Tisha during her final days on this earth.
