We are remembering Stuart with love, admiration and gratitude, for all that he embodied and meant to us as well as many others.
He was not only willing to always help, but insisted that you got the very best care, wherever that might be. His passing has left a hole in our lives. To say that Stuart impacted our life is an understatement. He was unconditionally and selflessly there for us with intelligence and grace. His friendship was treasured. We grieve personally and are thinking of his family, especially Susan.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann and Bob Eubanks

Susan:
You will never know how much I absolutely revered Stuart. My heart is heavy knowing that he is no longer with us. He was just an extraordinarily wonderful man.
I don't know when the visitation will be, but whenever it is, I regret that Dody and I cannot attend. Dody is not doing well, and I'll just leave it at that. I wish very much that it were otherwise.
Prayers and condolences to you and Stuart's family from both of us.
George

I had the honor of getting to know Dr. Bondurant over the past few years during my time at UNC. He had such a kind spirit, and always took a sincere interest in me and my academic work. His unforgettable, illuminating smile and jovial spirit will live on in the minds of those he touched. He was always humble, genuine, and took a sincere interest in others. He left an indelible mark on Carolina. Harder to quantify is his impact on the thousands of young students who, like myself, came away from our interactions with this man more inspired to reach for our potential. Thank you, Dr. Bondurant, for giving so much to us and to your community. You were a kind soul and will truly be missed. My prayers and deepest sympathies to Mrs. Ehringhaus and his family.

Stuart was my mentor and the best Dean of the Medical School for whom to work as an Assistant Dean. His concern for the students overrode everything else. I remember a snow day when the University was actually closed and a student came in to get a check he needed from Student Affairs. Stuart was also in and he called and got the information to get him into that office and find the check for the student. How many other Deans would do that? He always asked for advise, listened carefully and made considered decisions - and he backed his administrative personnel. The consummate gentleman - his passing leaves a huge hole and much sadness.
