Kay Webb Campbell, 64, of The Woodlake Community, Durham NC, beloved wife of Duane J. Campbell died Wednesday (September 20, 2017) at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

She was born January 2, 1953 in Richmond VA, daughter of the late William and Edith (Fenton) Webb, and lived in Durham since she and Duane retired in 2011. Kay attended Simsbury High School in Connecticut where she was an honor student. \par After graduation she attended Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown PA while majoring in Elementary Education. Upon graduation Kay returned to Simsbury to fulfill her student teaching requirements and to assist in the planning of her wedding. She went on to work for Warner Landscaping and begin her teaching career at The Master's School Early Childhood Center, teaching 3-4 year-olds for over three decades. She developed lasting relationships with her young students (and their parents) that continued for many years. Several families still keep in touch. Kay was an active member of The Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon CT and was excited to be involved in a women's Bible study at the home of Pat Hillier.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother enjoying her role as a babysitter and spending time with her family and seven grandchildren. At the same time she was active in the Legacy Bible study held in Southern Village, and was a member of The Chapel Hill Bible Church. She acquired a special interest from her mother and sharing with her daughter the making and collecting of Christmons (Christ Symbols) at Christmastime. She maintained a Christmon Tree in her home in NC.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Stephanie of Falls Church VA, Peter and Jackie of Durham, and daughter and son-in-law Jill and Kevin of Angier NC. In addition she is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Leigh Webb of Jaffery NH, Dr. William Webb and Dr. Suzanne VanDenBrink Webb of Portage MI; and her beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie and Will Fields, Molly and Lauren Campbell and Bryn, Landon and Cade Campbell, and many nieces and nephews.
