Obituary of Patsy Josephine Tilley

Patsy Josephine Martin Tilley passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at her home in Hillsborough, NC after an extended illness.

Mrs. Tilley was born May 27, 1940 in Caswell County, NC to the late Albert Alphonso "Fonzie" Martin and Laura Lee Troxler Martin.

She was a 1958 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a retired employee of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Human Resources for the State of North Carolina. After retirement she volunteered in the Food Pantry at OCIM.

She was a member of Lawrence Road Baptist Church in Hillsborough.

Patsy is survived by daughter, Jacqueline Gay Tilley Wilkerson; grandson, Royce Wilkerson (wife Jessica), great-grandsons, Jase and Crew Wilkerson, along with another great grandson due in January and great granddaughter Gracie Edmonds all of Hurdle Mills, NC.

Three sisters, Betty Lee Martin of Cary, Bonnie Martin Lynch of Roxboro and Linda Martin Barbour of Clayton. Two nieces, 5 nephews and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Jones Tilley.

Special thanks to: Bob Hayes who was always there when we needed him. Amedisys Hospice, Burlington - Her regular nurse Laura, CNAs Faith and Shalina for the care they provided over the last 6+ months.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 11 to 12 at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC.

A private ceremony will be conducted by Dr. Gerald Goodwin of Lawrence Road Baptist Church.
