Obituary of Dorothy Mae Broadhurst

Dorothy Jones Broadhurst , 68, of Rougemont, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Dorothy was born September 12, 1954, at George Watts Hospital in Durham, NC.

Durham, NC is also where she attended EK Powe Elementary, Brogden Jr. High, and Durham High School.

She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for a total of 38 years, and within those years, she filled several different positions within the company.

Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished every minute spent with loved ones and going to church, where she was a member at Faith Christian Fellowship Church, located in Hillsborough, NC. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her son, Shane Carson Broadhurst, her three granddaughters, Mary Alexandra Fitzgerald, Rachel Lynn Medlin, and Carson Nicole Broadhurst.

Walker’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services are honored to be serving the family of Dorothy Jones Broadhurst. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023 - at Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC.
