Obituary of Carolyn Eugenia Brafford

Carolyn Eugenia Brafford, 74 of Carrboro, NC passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Carolyn was born in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Chapel Hill High School and attended Sandhills Community College. She retired from the University of North Carolina Law School.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Hal and Nell Brafford and sister Barbara Rubish. She is survived by her brother Brad Brafford and wife Wanda; brother-in-law Jeff Rubish; nieces Kathryn Rubish and Lauren Umbarger and husband Matt; nephews Connor Rubish and Chris Rubish and wife Brooke; and great nephew Walker Rubish.

Nothing was more important to Carolyn than family. She assisted in organizing the annual Brafford reunions, and kept everyone connected. Carolyn was a huge fan of beach music and could often be found at many events of the local bands. Her love for others will be missed.

The celebration of her life will include a graveside service held in Westwood Cemetery on Fidelity St in Carrboro, NC at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 15 that will be officiated by Reverend William  (Bill)  Gattis. Following the service, family and friends are invited for fellowship and refreshments at Rock Quarry Farm located at 1700 NC Hwy 54W in Chapel Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Carolyn’s honor to Carrboro United Methodist Church located at 200 Hillsborough Rd Carrboro, NC 27510 or another charity of your choice.
