Obituary of Ernest Ira Wagner

HILLSBOROUGH, NC Ernest Ira Wagner , 55 passed away peacefully on December 2, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Wagner was born to John David and Carolyn M. Wagner in Durham, NC on April 10, 1960 and was a resident of Hillsborough, NC for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Ira Coleman Wagner and Lillian Cole Wagner and his Maternal Grandparents Ernest Edward & Ruth Laws Medlin. He is survived by his parents John David and Carolyn Wagner, his son, David Coleman Wagner (mother Lynn Wagner), a brother, Dee Wagner and fiancé, Angelette Fox and a sister, Lisa Wagner. Mr. Wagner was a 1978 graduate of Orange High School and is an Alumni of Elon College. After receiving a degree in Business Administration from Elon College, he spent most of his adult life working alongside his father in a residential rental property business. Mr. Wagner was a devoted and loving father, son, brother, friend and member of his community. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner and member of Eagle Lodge 19 in Hillsborough. He was passionate about family and those who knew him best will remember him for his great love of golf. Visitation will be held at Walkers Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC on Friday, December 4th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and the funeral will be held in the Chapel at Walkers Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5th at 2:00 PM. The family will also receive visitors at the home Mr. Wagner shared with his son, Cole. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Duke Cancer Center in his honor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Duke Cancer Center, especially his attending physician, Richard Francis Riedel, MD.
