Obituary of Bettie Lloyd Rosemond

Hillsborough - Bettie Sue Lloyd Rosemond, 88, died peacefully with her family by her side Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Duke Hospice in Durham. Bettie Sue Rosemond touched many young lives in the community as Cameron Park Elementary' s School Librarian/Media Specialist. She retired from teaching in 1985 after many years of service in the Orange County School System. Mrs. Rosemond, daughter of Andrew and Julia Lloyd, grew up in Efland, NC on the family farm. She graduated from Efland High School and attended UNC-G and Elon University where she received a degree in Home Economics, and her librarian's certification at UNC -CH. She resided in Hillsborough her entire adult life. Mrs. Rosemond is survived by sons Steve Rosemond and Joe Rosemond, Jr. of Hillsborough, Neil Rosemond of Durham; daughter Julie Rosemond Wilson of Glenwood Springs, CO; grandchildren Katelyn Rosemond Glassman, Charlie Rosemond, Haley Rosemond, Sarah Beth Rosemond, Tiffany Rosemond Lambis, Adam Rosemond, Henry Rosemond, Julia Rosemond, Cameron Wilson and Jackson Wilson; great grandson Christian Lambis; Daughters-in-law Carol Rosemond, Linda Rosemond, Frieda Rosemond and Jane Rosemond; sisters Maria Davis of Rockingham, NC, Priscilla Long of Hillsborough; brothers Ben Lloyd and Troy Lloyd of Efland. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph F. Rosemond Sr.; son M. Keith Rosemond; sister Mabel Gordon and brother Everett Lloyd. Her service will be held at Efland Methodist Church at 2 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2013. Her family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
