I remember visiting Victor when the Harry Slade's were living in Manorville on Long Island. We were both adolescents. They had a lovely big piece of property out in the "country" where my Uncle Harry raised Christmas trees for awhile. We were 8 years apart in age so I was up and out long before he was. However, long after I would hear from my parents or his how very proud of him they were, how smart he was, what joy he brought to their lives. I can only hope people will have half that respect and love for me that he had.

Victor, on one of your last days on spaceship Earth, you mentioned to me that PCBlocks was your legacy. I think your legacy is far greater than that. Your legacy is the full impact you've had on the people in your life. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have changed many people's lives. You certainly changed mine. Your crazy combination of love, generosity, absolute gentleness and the ability to give right-on constructive criticism when needed (and universe knows, I needed that on more than one occasion) have helped keep me on an even keel over the five decades our friendship has spanned. I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my dear friend you'll be!

I knew Victor best when we both lived in Wilson. I remember that both of us wanted to get into better shape but neither of us were all that excited about exercise. What we both enjoyed was handball. So every week we would play handball. We always enjoyed the game and the conversation. I'm sure that his transformation, which began in his baptism, will be completed on the Day of Resurrection.
