Obituary of Michael Chad Whaley

Mebane - Mr. Michael Chad Whaley, 39, a resident of Mebane, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Michael was born in Orange County on June 2, 1977 to the late Jimmy Ervin Whaley and Barbara Myers Whaley who survives. Michael was a 1995 graduate of Eastern Alamance High School. He was a mechanic and enjoyed his work. Michael met Jesus and was a member of Truth in the Word Church of Christ in Mebane. Survivors include his sons Truitt Michael Whaley and Tyler Zane Phillips of Mebane, mother Barbara Myers Whaley of Mebane, his grandmother Irene Harris Whaley of Mebane, his sister Christie Doss and husband Jay of Snow Camp, nephews Logan and Payton Doss of Snow Camp, and niece Jordan Doss of Graham, and two special loved ones, Christopher Myers of Mebane and Kayla Myers of Snow Camp. Michael also had cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends that he loved dearly. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Cook Whaley. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at the Lamb's Chapel, 415 Roxboro Street in Haw River, on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 4 PM. The family is grateful for the many kindnesses shown to them at this time.
