Joel William Minton Born 29 May 1987 passed 10 November 2016.
Joel resided in Chapel Hill NC from 1993 until 2016. In 2016 he moved with his mother DawnMarie Minton to Morrow, Ohio. While visiting Chapel Hill he was taken from us suddenly and to soon; at age 29; Joel crossed over in his sleep. He had an abundance of love for family, friends, children, new adventures, life and the outdoors.
Joel had many talents. He was an awesome Chef and an excellent Mechanic - which he learned from his Uncle Greg Minton. In Joel's time in Ohio he spent long hours doing the things he enjoyed. He was a mechanic at Mienekee from 6am - 3 pm then from 4 - 12 midnight he managed the Kitchen at Sugar Run where he crafted menus, which included some of his own specialties. Joel considered Sugar Run home, he was dearly respected and loved by the owners, staff and customers who expressed he will be forever loved and missed. Monday's, (his day off) he enjoyed taking his dog Cojo down to the river and lying in his hammock by the water.
Joel is survived by his Father Steve Minton of Chapel Hill NC, His Mother DawnMarie Minton, Older Brother Cory James Minton and Fiancé Laura Fields, younger Sister Faith Marie Minton- Javorsky, Married to Brian Javorsky; all of Ohio, his Foster Brother Andrew Stephen Worcester who resides in Georgia with his wife and son.
The family would like to thank all who were able to attend the service last week on such short notice and participate in the celebration of Joel's life. And apologize to those who were unable to attend due less than 24hr notice.
Of the many wonderful memories and kind words that have been shared about Joel. Each and every person said Joel had the largest heart of anyone they had ever met. Unanimous was his enthusiasm and joy in helping others, always ready to listen, encourage and bringing cheer and laughter. He was always there to help complete strangers or friends where neither time nor distance mattered. He knew no strangers and he exemplified unconditional love for all.
