Obituary of Carol Taylor Wheelock

Carol Taylor Wheelock of Efland, NC, passed away on the morning of December 12, 2016 after battling several lengthy debilitating conditions. Carol was a fulltime RN most of her life. She graduated from St. Peter's School of Nursing in New Brunswick NJ and was soon working at Princeton Hospital. One of her first patients when working was Albert Einstein! Carol and her husband David, moved to NC where she then worked at Dorthea Dix. Her final work life was completed at RTS in Alamance County - which turned out to be her most favorite. She loved her co-workers and clients, and always had a good story to tell of her adventures in nursing. Carol was a consummated giver. She shared her home with six rescue dogs. They were the source of great joy for her. Carol was predeceased by her husband David C. Wheelock, she is survived by a daughter, Kathlee Dail, two sons: Mike Dempsey (Kathryn), Brian Dempsey (Lori), two sisters: Cathy Nash and Jean Garzillo and one brothers, Joe Taylor, and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Pleasant Green United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Jesse Brunson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
