Obituary of Lou Ann Gentry

HILLSBOROUGH - "Onnie" Lou Ann Dickerson Gentry, 73, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the Hospice Facility in Hillsborough. She was born in Oxford, N.C. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Graham Dickerson, Sr., and Ida Preddy Dickerson, and her brother Fletcher Lee Dickerson. Mrs. Gentry is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Gentry; her children, Bobby Rhew (Mary) of Florida, Debra Penland (David) of Hillsborough, Linda Diane Rhew of Charlotte, Glenda Hoffman (Marty) of Unionville, TN; Elaine Chamberlain of Hillsborough, Richard Bradshaw of Charlotte; sister, Louise Crawford of Durham; brothers: Butch Dickerson of Durham, and Mike Dickerson of Charlotte. Mrs. Gentry has 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Monday, August 15, 2011, Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on Orange Grove Road in Hillsborough. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends August 14 from 6-8 PM at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.
