Obituary of Shirley Mitchell Pope

EFLAND Pope - Mrs. Shirley Ann Mitchell Pope, age 63, of 905 Brookhollow Road died Monday, October 31, 2011 in the Duke University Medical Center. She was born in Alamance County and was the daughter of the Peggy Robinson Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her father, William Mitchell. She was a member of the Efland United Methodist Church where she was very active. Surviving in addition of her mother, are her husband, Roger Pope, Sr., of the home; her children and their spouses, Chrissy Pope Moore (Dennis) and Roger Pope Jr., (Jodi) both of Efland; four sisters, Lynn Oakley and Billie Jo Boswell, both of Burlington; Cindy Rice of Yanceyville; Robin Moore of Graham; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Efland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Cindy Lister. Burial will follow in the Efland United Methodist Church Cemetery, Brookhollow Road. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM Wednesday at the Efland United Methodist Church.
