Merle Gregory

Durham - Mrs. Merle Joyce Gregory, 78 of Durham, NC, died peacefully, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at her home. A native of Durham, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Rasberry. She was a retired practical nurse that worked at Watts Hospital in Durham and Hill Haven Nursing Home in Chapel Hill. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Carl Gregory; two sons, Ernest Carl Gregory, Jr. and wife Sharon of Eustis, Florida; and Robert Jackson Gregory and fiancé Gail Connor of Newport, NC; five grandchildren: Corey Gregory of Anchorage, Alaska, Kara Knight and husband Gary of Bethlehem, Georgia, Grant Gregory and wife Amy of Everett, Washington, Savannah and Garrett Sykes of Eustis, Florida; and two great-grandchildren: Quayde and Summer. A memorial service will be held at Palmer's Grove United Methodist Church in Hillsborough at 11:30 AM, on Monday, January 23rd, with Pastor Dawne Davis officiating.
