Jane Roberts Edwards passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, following a long battle with cancer that began at age 17. She was the daughter of the late Fred Edwin Roberts and Louise Roberts Psalmonds, She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Jared Edwin Potts.
Jane was born and raised in Durham, NC. She attended Orange High School and King's Business College. While attending school, she helped her dad run his business, Fred's Drive In. Following graduation, she spent most of her career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Jane is survived by her husband and best friend of almost 17 years, Danny Edwards; her beloved son, Derek Potts;step-daughter Laura Edwards Ellis and husband, Shawn; step-son Jonathan Edwards; sister, Eva Roberts and husband, Phil Burzynski; and sister Carla Roberts and husband Doug Lane; nieces, Morgen and Callan Burzynski; mother-in-law, Jeanette Edwards; sister-in-law, Janet Gautier; niece, Nichole Gautier; brother-in-law, Michael Edwards and wife, Blanche; and nephews Michael Edwards and Travis Patterson Holloway. Jane was known for her love of color combinations with red and black. She had a flair for fashion. Jane enjoyed decorating, shag dancing, traveling, shopping, and watching the flowers bloom in her yard with the change of each season. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family, friends and her dogs, Beethoven and Todo. The family will receive visitors at Walker's Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2012, between 6 and 8 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC, on Saturday, April 21, 2012, officiated by Rev. Carolyn H. Burrus.
