Obituary of Carol Berry
Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carol Allison Berry, 79, passed away on January 5th, 2025, at Hillsborough UNC Hospital following a long illness. Carol was born Carol Ann Allison on December 15th, 1945, in Hillsborough, NC. Carol received her nursing degree from Watts School of Nursing, an affiliate of Duke University, in Durham, NC. Her love of nursing and caring for others lasted throughout her life. Up until her recent illness, Carol was often called on by others for health-related advice and was eager to help others get well. Carol also loved to bake, especially cookies. She often shared these with neighbors, and she was an instant favorite person to visit by the nearby children. She was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many of her neighbors. Carol was an extrovert and easily made friends wherever she lived: North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Carol was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. She enthusiastically created and lead a weekly bible study for senior citizens for many years. Now that Carol has passed into the arms of the Lord, her physical life on earth is over but, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die: and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and a former husband of 40 years, John H. Guill. Carol is survived by her husband, Wayne H. Berry, whom she dearly loved and felt blessed to find in her later years of life. She is also survived by her daughter, Beth Guill Gardner.
A private service will be held at a later date.
