Born in Boston and raised in Pelham, Massachusetts she graduated from Amherst Regional High School. During her time at UNC Hospital she started as a scrub nurse in the Emergency Room. Kim eventually moved to phlebotomy where she taught and mentored students. Her many accolades included Outstanding Preceptor of the year PBT (ASCP), and served on the advisory committee for the National Association of Clinical Pathologists. She was revered by her colleagues as an associate member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Kim traveled nationally and helped to develop test questions for phlebotomy certification for the National Center for Competency Testing.
Kim’s passions included, but not limited to reading, puzzles, bird watching, art, music, nature in general and family.
