Obituary of Clara Craven Allen

Clara Craven Allen passed away peacefuly at her home in Hillsborough on December 10, 2024.  She was surrounded by her family and ushered into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Clara was born March 27, 1940, in Efland, NC to parents, Odell and Elsie Craven.  A 1958 graduate of Aycock High School, she worked various jobs until she ended her career at Duke University, where she worked as a teller at the Duke University Federal Credit Union and then a patient services representative in the Duke Eye Center Pediatrics Department.  When not at work, she dedicated her time to her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, where she spent many years participating in the choir and teaching Sunday School to the nursery class.

Clara was proceeded in death by her husband of 30 years, Rayford Allen; parents, Odell and Elsie Craven; brother, Harvey Craven; sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Fred Eadie; and daughter-in-law, Angela Hall.

She is survived by her children: Tony Hall and wife Debbie; Wesley Hall and wife Kathy; Bobby Hall; Nikki Scott and husband Roy as well as her grandchildren; Mandy Hall, Ethan Hall and wife Dana, Jordan Hall, Lydia Morgan and husband Clabern, Teyler Higgins and husband Jeff, and Kaleb Scott; and  great-grandchildren, Aubree Hall and Teer Hall/  She is also survived by her sister, Linda Wheeler and Husband Mike, and sister-in-law, Sandra Harris.  Ms. Allen had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and cousins who also mourn her passing.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Soltys Place and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care of Clara during her journey with dementia and her transition to her heavenly home.
