Obituary of Janice Helms Beckwith

Janice "Jan" Helms Beckwith, 72, of Burlington, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Hospice Home of Burlington.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Beckwith was the wife of late husband, Matthew C. Beckwith, and daughter of the late Arthur Sylvester Helms and the late Juanita Williams Helms.

Mrs. Beckwith was a former Registered Nurse with Duke University Medical Center and worked in the Mother/Baby Unit, Labor and Delivery Unit and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  

Mrs. Beckwith is survived by a daughter, Juanita Ayadi and her husband Ala of Mebane, NC, two sons, Kris Solomon and his wife Kendall of Charlotte, NC, Joseph Beckwith his wife, Debbra, of Durham, NC, two grandchildren, Nicholas Solomon and Lillian Beckwith; three brothers, Robert Avant and his wife, Eveleen, Michael Helms and his wife, Janet and Kevin Helms and his wife, Susan.

A visitation will be held at Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane on Wednesday, December 4th from 12:00 PM to 1:00PM. The service will be held at 2:00 PM immediately following the visitation.

The family is accepting and appreciates all flower donations for the service. Flowers may be sent to Walker's Funeral Home at 304 West Center Street, Mebane NC 27302 prior to the service start time on December 4.
