Obituary of Johnnie William Moore

Johnnie William Moore, Sr, 71, of Mebane, NC earned his angel wings early Friday morning, September 27, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Moore was born on Saturday, July 11, 1953, in Mebane, NC to the late Furman and Lucille (Wynn) Moore. On July 2, 1975, on a warm summer’s day, Mr. Moore married his loving wife of 49 years in Dillon, SC to the former Kathey Cates who survives.

Mr. Moore worked most of his life as a Die Cutter Operator for Mebane Packaging and PBM Graphics before retiring.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Kathey of Mebane and two loving children, his son, Johnnie Moore, Jr. and his wife, Jessica of Burlington, NC, and his daughter, Jennifer Bondurant and her husband Michael of Burlington, NC.  Other survivors include his four rambunctious grandchildren, Evan, Cassie, Cayden and Ambria; a brother, Donnie Moore and his wife, Janie, his two sisters, Dianne Dickerson and her husband, Jim, and Linda Buckhalter. In addition to his beloved parents, his two brothers, James “Buddy” Moore and Thurman Moore, precede him in death.

A service to celebrate Mr. Moore’s life will be eleven o’clock Saturday morning, October 5, 2024 at Edgewood Baptist Church Life Center, 476 Edgewood Church Road, Mebane NC with Rev. Brad Harrison officiating.

Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mr. Moore to AuthoraCare Hospice, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, the MS Foundation, National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, DC 20090, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  

Mr. Moore will be forever missed by his loving wife, devoted children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
