Obituary of David Ray Streeter

On August 23, 2024 David “Dave” R. Streeter, of Efland, NC, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 73, after a courageous battle with an extended illness.
Dave was born on February 12, 1951, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, to Cecil Streeter and Joyce (Lamont) Fassett. He was a graduate of Athens Area High School, class of 1969 and was employed with Ingersoll Rand for 30 years. Dave was a proud lifetime member of the Athens Boro Fire Department Protection Hose Co. No. 1, having become a member at the age of 18, serving as Fire Chief at one time. Dave was an avid fan of the NY Yankees baseball team and the NY Giants football teams! He enjoyed traveling with his wife Bonnie and explored the Caribbean Sea on many cruises.
Dave is predeceased by his parents; Cecil Streeter and Joyce (Lamont) Fassett, sister Sharon Fuller, brother Tony Streeter, brother-in-law Scott Lampman, brother-in-law James Watson, great-grandson Jamison Jeffrey Streeter, mother-in-law Mary Louise (Field) Lampman, and father-in-law Allen Lampman.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie of Efland NC; his son Brian (Shannon) Streeter of Plant City, FL; his daughter Heidi (Jeffrey) Brennan of Mebane, NC, Aunt Dawn(Bruce) Nichols of Sebring, FL, grandchildren Shane Gill of Saint Petersburg, FL, Matthew Gill of Lakeland, FL, Shaynia (Shane Kelley) Streeter of Roxboro, NC, Jared (Bailey) Gill of Thonotosassa, FL, Shelbie (Blake) McLain of Burlington, NC, Alexander Brennan of Mebane, NC, Trey Streeter of Plant City, FL and Carlyanna Streeter of Plant City, FL; great-grandchildren Bentley Streeter, Olivia Gill, Zaiden McLain, Rilynn McLain, Avannah Kelley, Jaxson McLain, Carter Gill, Collin Gill and Emmerie Kelley; Sisters Darcy Watson, Deanna Phelan, Cathy (Kenny) Newell, Cathy Streeter and Carol “Nettie” Streeter; brothers Donald Streeter, Alan Fassett, and Elmer Fassett; Sister-in-laws Sharon (Allyn) Nichols, Elizabeth Styles, and Michele (George) Sarno; Brother-in-laws Allen (Christine) Lampman, and Jeffrey (Kris) Lampman; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 29th at the Mebane Memorial Gardens, 6914 E Washington St, Mebane, NC at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Athens Borough Fire Department, 2 South River Street, Athens, PA 18810 or a charity of your choice.
Burial will be at Mebane Memorial Gardens, 6914 E Washington St, Mebane, NC.
