Obituary of Bryan Warwick

Please share a memory of Bryan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bryan Anthony Warwick, 32, died August 13, 2024, surrounded by family and friends in his home in Raleigh, NC. He was a fierce advocate for human rights, equality, and justice. He was a loving dog dad, a cultivator of plants, and a world traveler.

He leaves behind his partner, Jon Lewis Walter, of Raleigh, NC; parents Barry and Victoria Warwick of Graham, NC; and brother Andrew (Kelly) of Atlanta, GA.

He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

As an educator, Bryan showed compassion and dedication for his students; he led his school’s Gay Straight Alliance program, which supports students of the LGBTQ+ community. He also passionately led high school-level courses on diversity, religion, and government.

Bryan most recently worked at a tech startup in Raleigh. During his time at Levitate, Bryan was known for the joy and light he brought to the workplace. Bryan was recognized as the top attaining Customer Success Specialist for 2022, as he helped to elevate the service of new verticals within the organization.

He battled cancer for over a year and never once lost hope, faith, or resolve. He made the people around him laugh with silly voices, antics, and jokes. His imagination and quest for knowledge was inspirational and always made people around him proud to know him. He was a genuine, gentle person who would help anyone in need.  He will be missed by all very much.

A celebration of Bryan’s life will begin at five o’clock in the evening of Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 in Walker’s Funeral Home of Chapel Hill, located at 11680 US Hwy 15-501, North, Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27517. A catered reception will follow at Walker’s.

We want to thank the staff at Duke Raleigh Hospital for their tireless care and support of Bryan throughout his cancer treatment.
