there was a old Plymouth or Chevy, late 40s on the farm. To drive it, she had 2 pillows on the seat to see over the steering wheel. 2x4 blocks fixed the peddles, so she reach them, she sure make it go. So many wonderful times growing up . Cuz you were one in a million, and your presence will surely be missed. Just thought of the time you and Jean came to visit, the bay bridge sent you two the floor. when we reached the top I said we over, not,we were right at the top and the two of you hit the floor again. The tears of my heart The laughter they brought to the world will keep them alive many many years

Brenda was an integral part of my term as Faculty Chair in 2000-03. In her inimitable way, she taught me how to navigate South Building and always greeted me with a smile and a tip on what was going on behind the scenes. Brenda knew more about what really mattered at UNC than most of us. Her guidance was always thoughtful and direct....I always knew when I was off base by the tone of her voice and the 'Brenda' look. Authenticity, generosity, wisdom, and a combination of no-nonsense and good humor epitomize her. May she rest in peace.

I met Brenda in 1972 when I was a sophomore at Carolina and she was the Administrative Assistant to the Professor of Aerospace Studies, AF ROTC Detachment 590. I stopped by to visit every Friday afternoon after "things" had quieted down a bit, and she brightened my day. I treasured those visits and little did we know they were the seeds to a life-long relationship. My family and I will really miss Brenda... God bless Bill and her family. Bruce Shaw
