Obituary of Kemp Bunion Tripp

Kemp Bunion Tripp, 93, of Mebane, passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Mebane Ridge Assisted Living.
Born, September 15, 1930, in Chatham County, he was a son of the late Roy Bunion Tripp and the late LaRue Cole Tripp. Kemp was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated member of the maintenance staff at UNC Medical Center for 32 years. Kemp and his late wife, Minnie, were longtime faithful members at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Durham. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 6, Chapel Hill. Kemp was known for his unique sense of humor and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Minnie Stallings Tripp; sister, Ann Bouldin; and brother, Auburn Tripp.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tony Malcom Tripp and Michael Wayne Tripp; grandchildren, Nathan Tripp, Amy Tripp Masters (Daniel) and Joy Tripp.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Durham with Rev. Jimmy Bland officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Markham Memorial Gardens, military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
Mr. Tripp will lie in repose at Walker’s Funeral Home leading up to the service on Saturday.
