Chuck Snider was a very dear friend to me. We met many many years ago in Clarksburg, WV at Charlie's. We continued to play music together for quite a few years after that. He was a good soul and very dear to my heart. A kind person with a giant heart. When he moved to NC, i continued to try to stay in touch with him through phone conversations.
He was not in the best health with his heart over the past few years, and i knew it was a struggle for him to play music. However, i never knew that it was as bad as it was. Chuck lived a good life and welcomed me into his home of his wife, with open arms.
He was the first person to ever tell me about Lucinda Williams. He was also the first person to introduce me to the TV show "He Haw". We had amazing memories and millions of laughs, that i will treasure for the rest of my life.
Heaven got an angel today and one heck of a pedal steel player. My prayers and condolences go to all his family. I am so very sorry.
